10 AI Prompts That Give a Business Owner an Hour Back

Ten copy-and-paste prompts for the busy owner buried in email, follow-ups, and meeting notes. Fill in the blanks, get a first draft, check it, send it. This is a free sample from the $297 Challenge's Prompt & Template Pack.

You already know you are buried. It is the invisible leak that eats your week: an hour answering the same question a dozen times, half an afternoon chasing a slow-paying client, a meeting you sat through but nobody turned into action, a task you do the same way every time because writing it down never made the list. Those hours come out of evenings, weekends, and the work only you can do.

Nothing here replaces you. It takes the blank-page start out of the tasks you do constantly, so your time goes to the work that actually moves the business.

Direct answer: below are ten prompts you can paste into any mainstream AI tool - ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot. Each shows what it is for, gives you the prompt to copy, tells you what to fill in, and what to check before you use the output. This is a sample from the Prompt & Template Pack inside the $297 Challenge.

Prompt 1 - Triage your inbox

Turn a wall of unread email into a short do-this list.

Here are the subject lines and first lines of my current emails: [PASTE A BATCH]
For each one, label it Needs me today, Can wait, Delegate, or Ignore, with a one-line reason. Keep the labels based only on what I gave you.

Fill in: a real batch of subject lines and first lines.

Check before using: Never delete an email from the label alone - the AI sees only what you pasted.

Prompt 3 - Meeting notes to an action list

Turn messy notes into a clear who-does-what-by-when list.

Here are my rough notes from a meeting: [PASTE YOUR NOTES]

Fill in: your own notes and any real numbers.

Keep it safe

Don't paste client Social Security numbers, bank details, passwords, or other private information into a public AI tool. Paste only what the prompt asks for, and remove names and private details first. Before you rely on any output, read it with your own eyes - the AI drafts, you approve.

Questions owners ask

Are these prompts actually free?

Yes. Every prompt below works in any mainstream AI tool and you can copy and use them now. The printable prompt card PDF is free too - enter your name and email to get it.

Will I get the same results you do?

The output depends on the tool, what you fill in, and how you check it. The prompts are a starting point; the value is in the details you add and the edits you make before anything goes out.

Is this legal, accounting, or financial advice?

No. Nothing here is professional advice. In particular, Prompt 10 (explain a contract clause) is a plain-English explanation to help you ask a lawyer the right question - it is not legal advice.
